I have completed my very first website!
My website is all about opera. I have compiled information about a few major composers and their works. Some of the operas included are my favorites.
If I had the time and knowledge I would like to add special effect, maybe girl it up a little with sparkles and add an aria to each web page.
If you are interested and would like to view my website, click here and enjoy!

I want to breathe!
This week has been difficult and I just can`t seem to do anything right.
I have a few classes that are getting pretty tough on me, I guess it wouldn`t be so hard if they weren`t all demanding. I`m not much of a computer person, so Excel and concatenating, and all this other computer stuff is confusing the heck out of me. My website is a disaster, all of my page buttons go to the very same page and nothing is spaced correctly. But overall, life is good and I will get through it and be a better person because of it.
Wish me luck!

China
The children in Mr. Cosand`s sixth grade class in China have a very interesting blog site. They are learning all about Ancient China and have gathered information on the technology and building methods, the great wall, inventions, and have so many resources. There is as much information about Egypt as well. Mr. Cosand`s class is also learning about volcanoes and earthquakes. He has included lab activities with a great collection of software and links to the Exploratorium and several libraries. This is a fabulous site for children with tons of resources. By far the best I`ve seen in educational value. I thought it was so great that I have my children involved and they love it! Be Amazed!
Sandaig Primary
Sandaig Primary School in Glasgow, Scotland has a lot of information for parents and children.
This is actually one of the best school blogs that I have seen so far as keeping parents up to date. They give so much detailed information. I learned about circle time, all of the children gather around and tell a story, each child adds his or her own sentence to make it their own. Later they went to the dinner hall for drama. Great imaginative play is so healthy for children these days. Then art of course, they draw each other and have exhibitions.
Each of the children have their own blog page within the school site, and they add to them daily as a part of their lessons. Amber says five things about herself and wants us to guess which one is fake. Jodie has just begun bagpipe lessons. Nicole wants to visit Egypt. You have to see this , they are so precious.

My First Website
I am working on my very first website! I am very excited about this, and so glad that it`s not as hard as I thought it would be.
I decided to do my website on opera, since I am a music major and I have to write papers on it anyway. Putting the website together has been effective in helping me to remember historical facts and figures. This is a picture from my web page on the opera Don Pasquale. Once it is finished, I`ll post a link.

South Valley Junior High
Great blog on history from Liberty, Missouri.
Mr. Langhorst`s eighth grade class has a blog on a book they are reading in history. "The Year of the Hangman". Mr. Langhorst is taking is slowly going week by week for the students and asking some pretty intense questions for eighth graders. He has also allowed the blogging community to join in the fun. He wants us all to respond by asking questions about the book blog project.
The students enjoy reading other people`s viewpoints and this opens them up to other ideas. They will be reading other books, so log on and join in.
Way to go South Valley Junior High!

Mrs. Kreul`s Class Blog
I found an interesting classroom blog.
Mrs. Kreul`s fourth grade blog has so much information, not just for the students but for the parents as well. She has included class reminders, parents newsletters, and tells parents all about what the kids are learning in each subject. In math they are learning about math facts- addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. They will also be doing a project called my memories. Where they will read a book and then brainstorm their own memories from it and write a paper. Here is a neat idea- all kids want to know what next year is going to be like, so Mrs. Kreul added a section on what fifth grade math will be like. Check it out.

French What?
I just wanted to add that I thought I was going to fail French, but
it has become fun for me, especially since I made an A on my last oral exam.
It`s much easier to sing than to speak.

Another FACT: Tomorrow is my mom`s birthday.
I was a great gift wasn`t I?

My blogging experience...
Though I have never blogged in the past, I am enjoying this newfound experience.
I have since checked out other blogging websites and enjoyed reading about others lives, mishaps, travels, and experiences along the way. Personally, I like to travel. So, If you are reading this make sure that you add your travels to your blog.
My son Bradley is now learning to blog and I am having a great time teaching him. This has given us another reason to spend quality time together. He is well on his way to having a blog of his own to share with his classmates.
Which brings me to the idea of blogging for the classroom, I think it would be a great idea to create a blog for every classroom. Teachers can keep parents posted as to how their children are doing, and parents can make comments on things. It could also be used as a bulletin to keep parents up to speed on test dates, assignments, and special events. I know it is hard to keep up with all those papers that kids bring home and if you live a busy life, you forget half of what you read and where you put the information. Having it all posted on a blog would be very convenient.
One of my professors uses a blog to aid our classroom, along with powerpoint presentations and podcasts. He likes to share things about himself and his family and this is neat because not only does it keep us informed daily, but it also adds to the personality of our teacher and lets us know who he is as a person.
It really makes learning fun and I think that no classroom should be without a blog. The only negative thing that I can see coming out of a blog being used by K-12 students would be students making ugly comments about others and it could reveal too much information to be viewed by strangers on the web.

My Little Man
Bradley is my first born and only son. I know he is going to grow up to be a good- looking, hard- working man, and He loves to take care of his mama.
Bradley, unlike Hannah, doesn`t like school so much but he tries very hard and makes good grades. He is a hard worker though. He likes to help his dad in the shop working on show cars and building things. He takes the trash out for me and keeps the yard neat. My only complaint is that he doesn`t clean his room, he pays Hannah to do it for him. (Just like a big brother)
Bradley is big into motorcycles and four wheelers and loves to scare me doing stunts. I could live without all that, but he enjoys it so much.

All about Hannah
Hannah is such an incredible child. She is only six years old and knows so much more than I did at her age. All A`s in school, and loves to learn.
She is very fashion conscientious (I hope I spelled that right) and changes clothes ten times a day.
She has competed in several beauty pageants and won in all of them, but we no longer do the pageant thing, I don`t want her to grow up basing her self worth on her looks.
Hannah loves to ride the new pink four wheeler Santa brought her this year. (By the way, pink is her favorite color, and she loves the song by Aerosmith!)
